# Query Builder

## Database support

Database support does not imply identical features. Connections and SQL worksheets are the starting point; editing, DDL, modeling, transfers, administration and AI operations depend on the engine and workflow. Check the installed version and the relevant guide before relying on an advanced operation.

Query Builder creates a `SELECT` statement from tables and views that use the active SQL or PL/SQL worksheet's connection. Open a bound worksheet before launching **Nexo SQL Studio: Open Query Builder**.

## Build a query

1. Drag tables or views from Connections Explorer onto the canvas, or choose **Add tables**.
2. Select the columns to include. Review inferred relationships and choose join types on the diagram.
3. Inspect the generated SQL in the preview. Edit or format the statement there, then run it or choose **Insert into worksheet**.

Query Builder keeps the worksheet connection attached to the query. To model a broader schema or export a diagram, see [Data Modeler](https://www.nexosqlstudio.com/docs/data-modeler).
