Nexo SQL Studio 2.0 is here
More databases, built-in Nexo AI, full MCP integration, a new Chrome extension for APEX development, and a fresh, faster experience. Discover what is new in Nexo SQL Studio 2.0.
Nexo SQL Studio 2.0 is here! This release brings more of your database work into one workspace, with AI that understands your context and a faster, simpler experience. Here is what is new.
More databases, one workspace
PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, SQL Server and SQLite join Oracle, with support across the data modeler, deployments and data transfers. Generate local Docker environments for supported engines and keep your database workflows together in VS Code.
Organize connections into Environments and Projects
The new Workspace view has three sections, each with its own search and folders. Environments group the connections that reach the same database and share their safeguards, APEX and ORDS URLs, filters and mappings to the equivalent connections in other environments, so deployments know where each change goes. Projects gather the connections, data models, APEX applications, API resources and remote files of one solution, without moving or copying them.
Manage ORDS from a dedicated screen
Use the ORDS management screen to manage Oracle REST Data Services directly from your database workspace in VS Code.
Built-in Nexo AI that understands your context
The new Nexo AI sidebar automatically picks up your database context. Sign in with your ChatGPT plan, use API keys, or connect through Amazon Bedrock, powered by the standard local Codex and Claude agent runtimes.
Bring your own AI client
Full MCP integration brings Nexo’s database tools and context into your preferred external AI workflow. Work with the AI client you already use while keeping access to Nexo’s database capabilities.
AI editing for APEX 26.2
Modify individual APEX pages or components with AI. Focus on exactly what needs changing instead of uploading full applications.
New Chrome extension for Oracle APEX
The new Nexo AI Chrome extension connects APEX Builder and running applications to your local VS Code workspace. Keep the page open while you edit code, ask AI for changes and see the result.
-
Edit code externally
Open an APEX Code Editor's text in VS Code, work with your normal editing tools and return the changes to the browser editor.
-
Autocomplete and format in APEX
Use schema-aware SQL and PL/SQL suggestions, parameter signatures and the Format action inside APEX Code Editors.
-
Open the page's APEXlang source
Jump from Page Designer or the runtime developer toolbar to the current page's exported APEXlang files in VS Code.
-
Ask, apply and see the result
Nexo AI Sidebar can edit APEXlang sources and apply authorized changes. With Live reload enabled, a successful apply refreshes the running development page.
-
Query with your APEX session context
Open a connected SQL worksheet and inspect the current development session's saved item values.
