Build and navigate Oracle PL/SQL workspaces offline

Generate local Oracle object definitions from a connection, then keep editing SQL and PL/SQL when you are away from the database. Nexo indexes supported Oracle source files in your workspace and configured search paths for context-aware autocomplete, go-to-definition, hover information, and symbol navigation in VS Code.

Offline workspace generation and file-based IntelliSense are Pro features. The initial snapshot uses an Oracle connection; editing, autocomplete, and code navigation then work from local files without a live database. · Oracle-specific

Keep Oracle source code in your workspace

Offline IntelliSense from local source files

Index packages, procedures, functions, types, and other supported objects from workspace files for offline completion and navigation.

Version Oracle code with Git

Review and commit generated Oracle SQL and PL/SQL files alongside application code, compare changes, and share a consistent source snapshot with your team.

From an Oracle schema to offline development

Seed the workspace with a database snapshot when useful, then keep Oracle code in regular files you can inspect, edit, and version.

01
Generate a local snapshot

In Connections Explorer, select your Oracle connection and run “Initialize offline definitions (Pro)”. Choose the object types to include; Nexo writes the generated files under db/ in your open workspace, organized by connection.

02
Open the files in your project

Keep the exported folders in a VS Code workspace. Nexo indexes supported Oracle sources and can use configured search paths for an existing PL/SQL repository.

03
Code, navigate, and commit offline

Use completions, hover, symbols, and go-to-definition from local files without a database connection. Review the diff and commit your SQL and PL/SQL changes to Git.
